How to become a member
Our constitution provides for the existing members to approve new corporate members and associate members
An existing member needs to propose you for membership at either our AGM (September) or our national hui (March)
You need to write, formally seeking membership providing a brief description of:
- who you are
- your kaupapa and how it links to that of HCA
- the health and related services that you provide
- a description of your governance structure
In practice, we are happy to begin working with you as if you are a full member while we wait for the formal process of membership to be completed.
HCA is also able to offer our services to groups which are working to develop new services or structures, but which do not wish to seek membership of our network. This work is done on a consultancy basis, following normal commercial practices. The basis of our fee for service is $110 per hour, plus GST and disbursements.
Our constitution allows for Associate Members – either individuals or groups. These are people who support our kaupapa but are not comprehensive primary health care providers themselves, or are PHOs many of whose members are exisitng HCA members.
There are very reasonable fees, presently $250 p.a. plus GST for groups and $50 p.a. for individuals. Associate members receive our mailings, but must meet all their own costs for any meetings or services provided. They do not have voting rights at our meetings.
If you think there may be advantages to you in linking up with HCA, we would be happy to discuss it with you. Maybe the best way is for you to ring:
