Welcome to HCA

Transforming  social inequalities through community inspired health services

Health Care Aotearoa (HCA) is a Treaty of Waitangi based national network of community-driven and governed primary health care services. We promote accessible primary health care for all people.  We offer our members advocacy, education, management and peer support programmes. HCA's commitment to achieving health for all in Aotearoa is shown in our Whakakotahi Declaration.

HCA member services provide quality, accessible and innovative primary healthcare for their communities. The kaupapa of HCA member services is about working to address the health and social needs and promote wellbeing, with a  focus on Maori, Pacific, Migrant and Youth populations.

Other HCA programmes include:

  • Te Wana, our quality programme for groups including Iwi services, Pacifika, Youth, Primary Health, Mental Health, Community Social Services, and National Lobbying organisations.
  • Enhanced Management Services , our programme supporting  PHO management.
